Kelsey Galbraith
Extensive Litigation Experience
Practiced in Multiple Counties
Consequential Jury Trial Experience
Kelsey Galbraith is building a diverse litigation practice on tenacity, creative and strategic thinking, and a bold, grounded approach to high-stakes legal matters. Born and raised in South Central South Dakota, Ms. Galbraith has built a practice that balances two dynamic areas of law: high-conflict divorce litigation and public interest law. Whether advocating for individual clients in deeply personal family disputes or taking on institutions in matters of public accountability, she brings the same focus, resilience, and fearless advocacy to every case.
As director of operations and general counsel for an investigative media company for nearly five years, Ms. Galbraith developed extensive experience with public corruption investigations, campaign finance laws, Texas Ethics Commission compliance, and open government statutes including the Freedom of Information Act and the Texas Public Information Act. Her work in this field shaped a keen investigative mindset and a passion for defending the public’s right to know—skills that continue to inform her litigation strategy today.
In addition to public interest work, Ms. Galbraith also handles high-conflict divorce and custody cases involving complex financial issues and contested custody. She thrives in litigation-heavy environments, where her clarity under pressure, tactical judgment, and calm presence make her an indispensable advocate. Known for being direct, detail oriented, and unconventional, Ms. Galbraith is an asset in the most contentious disputes.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of South Dakota in 2012 and her J.D. from South Texas College of Law in 2016. While in law school, she interned for the Honorable Francis Stacey of the U.S. Magistrate Court for the Southern District of Texas, served three semesters with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, and earned multiple top advocate honors in South Texas’s nationally ranked Advocacy program.
Outside the courtroom, Ms. Galbraith is married and lives with her very patient husband and their cats. She enjoys the theater, international travel, and is a classically trained pianist with over 25 years of experience. She’s also a fan of all things scary.
