Jeff Diamant
30 years Experience
High Conflict Family and Civil Matters
Significant Experience in High Profile Matters
With nearly 30 years of experience, Jeff Diamant has a broad-reaching legal and professional background making him uniquely suited for a wide variety of complex litigation. He began his career at what was the largest litigation-only firm in the Southwest handling commercial litigation, personal injury, insurance and aviation cases. After that, he spent the bulk of his legal career as a partner at Ware, Jackson, Lee & Chambers (formerly Ware, Snow, Fogel & Jackson) for 12 years, where he achieved several successful accolades:
1 of 4 partners on the successful trial team representing the Estate of J. Howard Marshall II precluding Anna Nicole Smith from recovering from the billion-dollar Estate.
Handled commercial litigation, product liability, securities, wrongful death, and insurance defense/coverage litigation matters as Lead and Co-Trial Counsel for cases ranging from $1m – $500m.
Regional Trial Counsel for Allied Waste
Regional Trial Counsel for Waste Management
Excess Counsel for AIG handling cases as Lead Trial Counsel valued at over $2m
Throughout his history, Mr. Diamant has taken an active role as both lead and additional counsel on many of the most complex divorce cases in Texas reaching over a broad range of issues from complex estates to complex custody issues. He is frequently heralded as one of the best divorce attorneys in practice and his history in commercial litigation and complex civil trials brings him a perspective unique to divorce cases that has proven to be advantageous to his clients repeatedly. His clients have benefited significantly from his blend of “actual lawyer work” with a business and pragmatic sensibility coupled with a history of handling heavy-conflict cases.
Through his own firm, Mr. Diamant has continued his work in both complicated commercial cases as well as high-conflict divorce cases, particularly in involved high-conflict custody and modification cases—an issue very personal to him. Having seen first hand the impacts of these cases on parents and children alike, and these issues having impacted his own wife and children, helping children and protective parents has become a mission for him.
At this stage, Mr. Diamant is likely one of the foremost experts on combating false claims of the never-scientifically-recognized “parental alienation,” and regularly deals with combating abusive parents using “parental alienation” as a litigation tactic to shift the burden from the abusive parent to the protective parent. Related, he and the firm have significant experience in dealing with issues of post-separation abuse, coercive control, narcissistic personality disorder and many related concepts.
To further the understanding of Mr. Diamant’s work in this area, he was instrumental in the drafting, review and comment of drafting and lobbying for the recent Texas Legislation, HB3783, banning intensive “reunification” therapy programs and putting in important controls over limiting a court’s ability to order a person who is a victim of domestic/family violence, abuse or sexual abuse to participate in counseling with the abuser upon the presentation of credible evidence of the abuse. Mr. Diamant was the only lawyer who testified in the House Subcommittee in favor of such legislation and one of only two invited testimonies in the Senate Subcommittee who heard HB3783. HB3783 was voted in unanimously in both the Texas House of Representatives and Texas Senate. His testimony can be seen below, in full.
His services also continue to be provided in business/corporate consulting, all areas of family law, commercial litigation and even complex personal injury cases and have been utilized in multi-million dollar divorces, international kidnapping, fraud and many related fields ranging up to hundreds of millions of dollars at issue.
In his personal life, Mr. Diamant focuses his time on his wife, Angel (a High Conflict Divorce Consultant), their soon-to-be architect oldest daughter, their headed toward becoming a doctor younger daughter and both enjoy spending time in Auburn, AL, which is home to the girl’s college education. He also adores their 14 year old not-Chihuahua (no matter what the doggie-DNA test says), Tanner, and 1 year old 69lb Lab (both rescue dogs), Junior (named after Ken Griffey, Jr, which was clearly his idea, not the girls’) who loves to swim. Tanner, not so much. The four of them are also avid documentary fans. The dogs, again, not so much. They’re fans of treats. Oh, and then there’s the Astros…
Mr. Diamant also founded 3 manufacturing companies making electric guitars, guitar amplifiers and tactical bags and accessories, which together manufactured and sold products to over 37 countries across the world. Not only did he found these companies and run each, he was also the chief product designer and marketer for all 3. His extensive business knowledge and both domestic and international business experience provide Mr. Diamant with specialized knowledge and practical advice in both commercial and product liability cases. While managing these business, he also provided consulting to many companies on business, insurance and risk management issues.
Mr. Diamant is also a SCUBA diving Master Instructor, Course Director (instructor trainer) and Technical Diving Instructor. He is also a firearms expert (having formerly represented a major firearms manufacturer), as well as a guitar enthusiast.
