The day after Memorial Day, it was a very “American” result, Jeff Diamant prevails in Court on the case of the wrongfully convicted Carlos and Jemima Guimaraes, who stood accused of aiding in the alleged kidnapping of their grandchild. “The Court’s ruling embodied the American system of justice,” Diamant said about the hearing. He continued, “The Court’s ruling sends a clear message. . . in this country, you cannot defraud our courts and get away with it.”

Houston trial lawyer Jeff Diamant again chosen to lead the fight, this time in the lawsuit filed on behalf of Carlos and Jemima Guimaraes, convicted of aiding and abetting in the alleged kidnapping of their grandson. The suit exposes the fraud on the court on behalf of Chris Brann.

Q:  Can you tell me a little about your background and how you came in to doing family law cases? I know that wasn’t always your thing.

A:  Sure. As you probably know, I have a lot of background in commercial litigation of all kinds, from contract to fraud to securities and more. And then I have so much background on related work as well with stuff like estate litigation through the 10 years I spent defending the Marshall Estate from the claims of Anna Nicole [Smith], insurance work and the like.  Well, one of the big things about commercial work and some of that related litigation is learning the business side of . . .
